Today meta announced Parents will soon be able to monitor how their teen uses the 10s of AI chat bots across Meta’s platforms and set limits on what they can do. The main reason Meta is adding these new features is because of the security risks and danger of AI access to kids as young as 13.
The new tools will allow parents to view, restrict and even full out block their child’s access to Meta’s AI characters. Parents can block characters they don’t like.
The company (meta) says it will “remain available to offer helpful information and educational opportunities” alongside “age-appropriate protections in place.”
Meta also said parents will get “insight” into what their kid is using and doing with its (meta’s) AI characters and chat bots.
I hope you enjoyed this read, it was kind of rushed though but still hope you learned something. And while you’re at it follow me on Bluesky (you don’t have) :)
