A black JBL speaker sits on a wooden table. The speaker is placed on a wooden table, and there are two earbuds on the table next to it. The earbuds are black and white, and they are placed on the table next to the speaker.

Sorry, but there's no medium link for this article >:(

So about a week ago I got the JBL TUNE BUS to replace my old JBL Earbuds.

Look what just arrived

And one thing I noticed right from the start was the shape of the earbuds and the case. The new case (the black one) feels just a tad lighter than the old one (the blue one), it's barely noticeable, but if you think about it, you can feel it.

So I did what most people do and got a food scale to weigh them.

The new earbuds came in at 1 & 7/8 of an ounce, the old earbuds came in at exactly 2 ounces.

and there almost the same wight new ones (left) old ones (right)

But the earbuds themselves don't, the old ones are more like AirPods with the long "stem" while the new ones look more like "buds" rounded and fit perfectly in your ear.

the case might look similar but the earbuds themselves dont

Both earbuds have touch sensitive buttons that can be programmed to play, pause and skip music and adjust volume and if you hold your finger to a button for about 3–5 seconds it actives Siri (Siri for me because I got an iPhone)or Amazon Alexa.

The image displays a series of screens showcasing different settings and options for JBL TuneBuds. The screens are arranged in a row, with each screen displaying a specific feature or function of the TuneBuds. The screens include settings for volume control, voice assistant, and power-saving mode. The image highlights the importance of these features and options for users to customize their listening experience with the JBL TuneBuds.

Like everything from your digital camera to your (freaking) toaster, everything these days needs an app and yes an app for your earbuds does make sense. I feel like JBL did an awesome job with their mobile app (at least for iOS, I haven't used it on android before).

I find that the most important and used features on the top of the app, right where you want them to be for easy access.

The battery percentage and sound control is the first thing you see with a nice visual to see what earbuds are in use

The image displays a smartphone screen with a control panel for ambient sound. The panel allows the user to adjust the volume and control the ambient sound. The screen is focused on the control panel, highlighting the main subjects and actions.

So yeah, they are good ear buds, I plan on using them for the next 2+ years.
