I’m Switching to Firefox
I want a browser that just works, no fancy design, no AI everywhere, just a web browser, a web browser that works

In the past week I've gone from using Safari to Arc and now to Firefox, and I'm sticking with Firefox, like sticking with it. For these four reasons, It just works, cross-platform, it's secure & fast.

Why I keep switching

Like most people you probably use Chrome, Firefox or Safari but there are all these smaller browsers people use like Comment, ChatGPT Atlas, Dia, Arc, Edge, etc. But these browsers might be chrome based, but aren't real web browsers.

Comment, Dia and ChatGPT Atlas are both AI Web Browsers where the goal is for you to use enough energy to power a light bulb for 20 minutes just to open a new tab.

Where a Browser like Arc gives off these "rich white girl vibes", it's not like a true browser, it's just Chrome but for looks.

But Edge aka Microsoft Edge is a good Browser, in fact when I was daily driving Windows Edge was my main browser, everything worked well, but it does feel a bit too busy, with the sidebars and the "Hey want to use Microsoft Copilot to make a summary about this page". But over all it was a good browser and even to this day I still use Microsoft Office or whatever it's called now

So Why Firefox?

One reason, it just works. Not like Apple's "It Just Works", Firefox Is a widely supported and is easy to use perfect English it's a no AI, no ads, web browser. I can open a tab on my Mac, continue on my Linux Desktop, then finish on my iPhone. And it has features some browsers don't. For example "bookmark keywords"

It's really cool and is a huge time saver.

One of my favorite things about @firefox.com is the bookmark keywords

And to be honest when I'm developing my website I never host the live preview in Safari because I know nothing really works well in Safari, I always use Firefox.

Now let's talk about AI, Firefox has "some" AI built in like the AI Sidebar which can be used to Summarize Web Pages and Ask questions and many tiny tools but over all Firefox is not shoving AI into your face.

The AI Sidebar is a nice to have, I use it all the time to ask questions and about the current page I'm on.

Everything just works, sync is fast, the browser isn't laggy and is usable and add-ons make it so much better, for example.

Dark reader, lets me force dark mode on websites that don't have dark mode as an option and done have the dark mode CSS code.

TL;DR Firefox is a good browser and I plan to use it forever.

This Leaflet was rushed, so it's not my best writing.
