According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple now has a plan to release "The next gen Siri" as early as iOS 26.4in the Spring of 2026 and is said to use Google Gemini models.

Apple is to use custom Gemini models, different from what day-to-day users can use at gemini.google.com and will be ran on Apple's Private Cloud Compute servers and not on Google's Servers.

Apple promised the new Siri will be able to answer personal questions like "find the book recommendation from Mom", by using data on your device (iPhone, iPad, Mac, etc) and generating a response in seconds using the custom the Gemini model.

Gurman says user privacy will not be an issue because Apple is running the Gemini Models on Apple's own server infrastructure without any external data sharing, and on-device data will be processed using Apple's own Foundation Models.

Apple is expected to announce the new Gemini powered Siri in the spring of 2026 alongside the launch of iOS 24,4, in March or April.
